People for Animals, India's leading animal welfare organisation, is holding a fundraiser today from 3 pm to 9 pm at Royal Oak Banquets, Kala Ghoda to support its work for animal welfare.
In the past, the organisation has stopped the abuse of cows taken to slaughter, and has shut down six illegal slaughter houses. It has also intervened to ban horse-driven carriages in Mumbai and has undertaken an effort to rehabilitate abandoned horses. A PFA campaign led to the ban of the same in Delhi. The organisation is now working to set up a hospital on the outskirts of Mumbai to provide otherwise unavailable treatment for needy animals.
