The action was taken after multiple complaints were received about deafening bike noise disrupting residential areas. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had ordered action against such modified silencers. “A dedicated campaign was initiated to regulate silencers, and moving forward, action will also be taken against garage owners selling or installing such silencers. We direct vehicle owners to follow proper traffic rules and regulations,” an official stated.

The assault occurred between 5:45 AM and 6:30 AM. The suspect, identified as Dattatraya Ramdas Gade, was captured on CCTV footage, but he remains on the run. Pune City Police have formed 13 teams to locate and arrest him. Eight teams from the Crime Branch and five from Swargate Police Station are working to track down the accused. Some teams have also been sent outside the district to assist in the search. The police took immediate action, filing a complaint and securing the CCTV footage, which helped to kickstart the investigation. Authorities are also looking into how the bus depot management allowed such an incident to take place within their premises. In response to the attack, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Vasant More, along with other party members, organized a protest at the Swargate Bus Stand, demanding justice for the victim.
