In a first for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), a double-chamber bridge has been introduced, integrating metro and suburban rail services within a single structure. Mumbai Metro One, the city’s first elevated metro corridor is launching a shuttle service between Andheri and Ghatkopar to improve service frequency and accommodate more passengers during peak hours on the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar line, one of the busiest routes in the city. This will help reduce wait times for commuters. From 8:30 am to 10:30 am in the morning and 6 pm to 8 pm in the evening, Metro One will operate shorter trips between Ghatkopar and Andheri—skipping the longer route to Versova. 10 March,2025 05:41 PM ISTA tragic accident occurred in Maharashtra's Mira Bhayandar (East) on Wednesday, 27th November evening when a woman in her late 60s was killed by a crane. The incident took place near Family Care Hospital in the Indralok area around 5:30 pm. The woman, whose identity was not immediately confirmed as her son was yet to arrive from Mumbai, was a retired clerk from the BMC. She lived in the same area and was out for her regular evening walk when the accident happened. The crane, which was reportedly speeding and being driven recklessly, lost control while turning and struck her. She died instantly. The incident was caught on nearby CCTV cameras. Local officials from Navghar police arrived at the spot and rushed the blood-stained body to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead before admission. The body was sent for autopsy, and the police are continuing their investigation into the matter.

Connecting BKC(Bandra Kurla Complex) to Aarey, this metro service has come as a big relief to the commuters travelling on the western line. Developed at a cost of 32,000 crores, this is Mumbai’s first fully underground metro. In this first phase - around 12 km stretch has been inaugurated between Aarey Colony and BKC. In the subsequent phase - this stretch will be total of around 33 kms between Colaba - Arey and Seepz. This is known to be one of the most challenging projects for the authorities. Phase one will soon connect Aarey to BKC, creating a vital link for commuters.
