The Indian Army recently gave a detailed demonstration showing how its air defence systems, including the powerful AKASH missile system, played a key role in protecting the Golden Temple in Amritsar and several major cities in Punjab from missile and drone attacks launched by Pakistan. During the demonstration, Army personnel explained how the defence systems were able to quickly detect, track, and destroy incoming threats, including modern Turkish-made drones used by the enemy. He appeared alongside Lt General Rajiv Ghai of the Indian Army and Vice Admiral AN Pramod of the Indian Navy, both of whom emphasized the joint effort and coordination among the services in thwarting the attempted strike. Pakistani forces attempted to send swarm drones across multiple locations, targeting areas including Udhampur, Samba, Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota, and Pathankot in Jammu and Kashmir. However, the Indian Army successfully intercepted the threats using L-70 guns, Zu-23mm, Schilka systems, and other advanced counter-UAS equipment.
