Bengaluru was hit by heavy rains late last night, leading to widespread waterlogging across multiple city areas. As a result of the heavy rainfall, low-lying areas, including parts of Koramangala, HSR Layout, and Whitefield, were submerged under knee-deep water, bringing traffic to a standstill and leaving residents stranded. To rescue the stranded citizens, JCBs and inflatable boats were deployed in severely affected zones. Residents are furious over the city’s mismanagement by the authorities. A local said, "All the people in this area are facing difficulty. It is only in this 200-300 metre radius. There is no proper sewage system here. College, school and workplace, all are affected because of this."

Following the verdict, mass protests erupted outside Bikash Bhavan in Kolkata’s Salt Lake area. The protests turned violent as police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the crowd.

Detained over the past few days, they were brought to Jodhpur on 14 May to begin the deportation process. According to Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel, a total of 148 illegal immigrants were transported to Kolkata via Jodhpur, from where they will be officially repatriated to Bangladesh.

In the teachers' recruitment, corruption was to the extent that people went to the court, and this was called a bribe for jobs scam...”

The email claimed a bomb had been planted at the Global Ryan School in the Jogeshwari-Oshiwara area. Following this, the police and local authorities quickly arrived at the school. The bomb squad and explosive detection teams are currently searching the premises for any potential threat. However, as of now, no bomb has been found. The email mentioned that the Afzal gang was responsible for planting the bomb, and investigations are ongoing to find out more about the threat. Authorities are working to ensure the safety of everyone at the school and resolve the situation.. The recent bomb threat at the Global Ryan School comes just days after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in Mumbai also received a bomb threat email. The email, written in Russian, was sent to RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra's official address and threatened to blow up the bank. Bomb threats have become a growing issue for schools across India, though most turn out to be hoaxes. Earlier this week, two schools near Erode, Tamil Nadu, received similar bomb threat emails, leading to the evacuation of students while authorities conducted a thorough search. After several hours, the threat was confirmed to be false. In Delhi, the police have recently investigated a wave of hoax bomb threats targeting over 400 schools.

The patients, a 3-month-old girl and an 8-month-old boy, were admitted to Baptist Hospital. Despite these HMPV cases, there has been no significant rise in flu-like illnesses or Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) in India. This comes after reports of an HMPV outbreak in China, where the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration is testing a system to monitor pneumonia cases of unknown cause. HMPV is already circulating worldwide, including in India, with cases of respiratory illnesses linked to the virus reported in many countries.
