Hossain mentioned that if Bangladesh's home and law ministries request her return, it could put the Indian government in a difficult position. He suggested that the Indian government is aware of the situation and will handle it appropriately. Additionally, the Dhaka Tribune reported that Hasina and 24 others are facing a complaint at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged human rights violations.
