Sharad Pawar, the chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), affirmed that the INDIA bloc will take necessary precautions to maintain unity among its alliance partners in states like Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, where upcoming elections are a priority. He made these remarks during a press interaction held in Baramati.

Over two dozen opposition parties have come together to form the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) with the aim of challenging the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming general elections, reported PTI.

Addressing concerns about potential discord within the alliance, particularly in West Bengal where the Congress has claimed certain seats, Pawar acknowledged that as elections draw nearer, differences among INDIA bloc partners might emerge. However, he emphasized their commitment to resolving such issues by engaging neutral leaders from the alliance.

Pawar underscored the significance of elections slated to take place in four to five states in the coming months. He revealed the INDIA bloc's intention to work towards aligning all alliance partners in states like Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. To achieve this, Pawar intends to hold discussions with leaders from the Congress and other allied parties upon his return to Mumbai. He affirmed that these efforts to ensure harmony among alliance partners would commence within the next eight to ten days.

"INDIA bloc will see how all the alliance partners come on one page in states like Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. After returning to Mumbai, I will hold discussions with Congress and other party leaders and we will take precautions to ensure that there are no disputes among the alliance partners (in these states)," he was quoted as saying in the PTI report.

Several states, including Chattisgarh, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana, are gearing up for assembly elections in the coming months. The INDIA bloc's collective goal is to present a united front in these elections and offer formidable opposition to the BJP. "When elections near, the possibility of differences (among INDIA bloc partners) cannot be ruled out. However, we will sort the issues by sending neutral leaders from the alliance," he further said to the media persons.
