Shashi Tharoor speaks on diplomacy in Russia-Ukraine conflict, India's role

Shashi Tharoor speaks on diplomacy in Russia-Ukraine conflict, India's role

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor spoke about the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, highlighting that Prime Minister Modi has consistently supported a diplomatic solution. Tharoor noted that while Presidents Trump and Putin have had discussions, a peace process involves more than just two leaders talking—it requires all parties, especially Ukraine, to be involved. He emphasized that the key actors in the conflict are those directly engaged on the ground and those supplying weapons. Regarding India’s role, Tharoor mentioned that India has not been asked to intervene yet, and the country should wait and observe until invited. He added that India has a long history of peacekeeping but any involvement would depend on the specifics of the agreement. On the return of NASA astronaut Sunita Williams to Earth, Tharoor expressed relief and pride, emphasizing that although she was not born or raised in India, her connection to the country through the diaspora made her return even more special.... Sunita Williams, Butch Wilmore return to Earth after 9 months in space

Sunita Williams, Butch Wilmore return to Earth after 9 months in space

A historic moment unfolded when the SpaceX Dragon capsule, carrying NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, splashed down off the coast of Tallahassee, Florida. After an unexpected nine-month journey in space, their extraordinary adventure came to an end. As the capsule landed, dolphins greeted the astronauts, offering a stunning and unexpected welcome back to Earth! The visuals captured the astronauts stepping out of the spacecraft, smiling and waving as they were greeted by recovery teams. The Dragon capsule was lifted onto a recovery vessel, and for the first time since September last year, its side hatch was opened. The astronauts, with the help of the ground crew, emerged one by one. Crew-9 commander Nick Hague was the first to come out, followed by Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov. Then, Sunita Williams emerged, smiling and waving, feeling the pull of Earth’s gravity after spending months in microgravity. Butch Wilmore was the last to exit the capsule, completing their safe return. Cheers echoed as the astronauts were safely out of the Dragon. The splashdown happened at 3:27 AM IST, bringing excitement to the officials monitoring the rescue operation. This was necessary because Williams and Wilmore had stayed longer than planned in space due to technical issues with Boeing’s new Starliner crew capsule. Elon Musk congratulated both the SpaceX and NASA teams for another successful and safe astronaut return! Back in Sunita Williams’ native village of Jhulasan, people celebrated her safe return with prayers and an aarti ceremony. Her cousin shared in the joy, expressing elation over the astronauts’ safe return home!  ... [Read More]
