Mumbai: Central Railway to operate night traffic and power block on Saturday night, check details

The Central Railway on Thursday said that it will operate a night traffic and power block on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.


In a statement, the Central Railway said that a special night traffic and power block on down and up South-East lines on the Kalyan-Ambarnath section for shifting of FOB columns from Platform no 1 to 2 at Ulhasnagar station and Erection work by Hydra M/c at km 57/10-12 on the intervening night of August 26 and 27 (Saturday /Sunday midnight).


The Central Railway also shared the details of the block- 


Block Details:

• Night traffic and power block for shifting of FOB columns from Platform no 1 to 2 at Ulhasnagar station and Erection work by Hydra M/c at km 57/10-12

Section of Block:

• Kalyan to Ambarnath Down South-East lines and 

• Ambarnath to Kalyan up South-East lines (excluding both Kalyan and Ambarnath stations)


Date, Time and Duration of Block:

• 26/27-08-2023 (Saturday /Sunday midnight) –

• From 01.10 hrs to 02.10 hrs (1 hour)

Due to this the train running pattern will be as under:

• Local for Ambarnath departing CSMT at 23.51 hrs and Local for CSMT departing Ambarnath at 22.01 hrs and 22.15 hrs will remain cancelled.

• Local for Ambarnath departing CSMT at 00.04 hrs will be terminated at Kurla.

• Local for Karjat departing CSMT at 00.25 hrs will be regulated at Kalyan station from 01.51 to 02.10 hrs.

• Movement of freight trains between Kalyan and  Ambarnath will be suspended during the block period.

"Passengers are requested to bear with the railway administration for the inconvenience caused due to this infrastructure block," the Central Railway said.

Meanwhile, the Western Railway on Thursday said that it will operate a night block between Vasai Road and Vaitarna on the intervening night of August 25 and 26.

In an official statement, the Western Railway said that to carry out maintenance work of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment, a jumbo block of three hours will be taken on up and down fast lines between Vasai Road and Vaitarna stations on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday i.e. on August 25 and 26. 

According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the block on up fast line will be undertaken from 23.50 hrs to 02.50 hrs while on down fast line will be from 01.30 hrs to 04.30 hrs. Due to the block, Train No. 19101 Virar – Bharuch MEMU departing from Virar at 04.35 hrs will leave at 04.50 hrs instead.

Detailed information to this effect is available in concerned Station Master’s office, the Western Railway said.

"There will be no block in the day time over Western Railway suburban section on Sunday, August 27, 2023," the Western Railway said.
