A 48-year-old man got swept away after falling into a swollen river in Maharashtra's Palghar district, an official told news agency PTI on Monday.

The incident took place at around 6.45 pm on Sunday when the man, from Adagpada at Samba in Talasari area, was crossing the Kolha creek river, district disaster management cell Vivekanand Kadam told PTI.
The man fell into the water body and got swept away, he said.
Efforts were on to trace him, the official told PTI.
Palghar has been witnessing heavy rains since the last one week.
In another incident, A 50-year-old man drowned in a flooded nullah on Friday evening in Vasai town of Maharashtra's Palghar district, while a house wall collapsed amid heavy rains in a separate incident here, officials told PTI.
District Disaster Management Cell chief Vivekanand Kadam told PTI that the victim, Shantaram Vayda, set out of his house to get some eatables.
While walking on the road in heavy showers, he accidentally fell into the swollen nullah and got washed away, he said, adding local firemen later fished out his body.
Police have registered a case of accidental death.
Following torrential rains, a wall of a house collapsed in the Bhimnagar area of Boisar town in the district in the early hours of Friday, but no casualty was reported, the official said.
Fire brigade personnel later cleared the debris, he said.
Meanwhile, The body of a 28-year-old man from Ambernath who had been swept away in a flood was found near Ulhasnagar in Thane district on Saturday, civic officials told PTI.
The deceased was identified as Rahil Shaikh.
He had been washed away in floodwaters on Wednesday, officials said.
The body was found in Waldhuni river near Ulhasnagar. Police has recorded a case of accidental death.
