Why you can attend this two-day carnival in Mumbai with your kids this weekend

Moments from a previous edition of the carnival

As one of the largest festivals for kids in the city enters its seventh edition, Deepak Choudhary, founder and managing director of Eva live, the company that is organising the Windmill Festival, tells us, “We founded the festival in 2015 to create a space not just for children but also for families. This will be the first edition since the COVID-19 pandemic, and naturally, we have introduced newer workshops and activities to incorporate the advancing technologies.” With more than 50 workshops, alongside other activities, the two-day festival promises to offer something for children of each group till 14.

Choudhary adds, “The festival has always been so much more than a carnival; because along with experiential activities, we have workshops that cover areas like sports, music, art, language and science. We have a separate section called the Toddler’s zone that will keep children, between the ages of zero and four years engaged for hours. There are many activities that you can do as a family  as well.”

He adds that the festival sees over 7,000 people on each day. While all activities will be charged for, most workshops are free of cost. Some of these include pottery, a makeshift zoo that allows children to pet animals, robot-making sessions, outdoor games, animation, writing and communication skills, fluid art, and more.
