A popular eatery’s new menu focuses on smoked and seasonal ingredients

Nestled in the corner where the lane adjacent to KFC on Linking Road meets Pali Hill, Smoke House Deli has taken adequate advantage of its prime location to build a formidable reputation for itself over the years, adding outposts in Colaba, Lower Parel and BKC. Now, they are taking things one step ahead with a new menu that – in accordance with the eatery’s name – focuses on smoked ingredients.

Take a sip of smoked cauliflower and walnut soup. Dig into a hearty slow smoked chicken and chickpea minestrone. Drink some water after biting into the Naga chilli chicken bbq skewer. And get high on smoked whiskey butter baked tiger prawn mac n cheese. The menu also features glazed pork ribs and an in-house charcuterie platter that features a range of smoked meats. Even the desserts feature smoked items and to end the meal on a sweet note, ask for smoked chocolate cheesecake, and almond and vanilla cake.

The eatery will keep adding seasonal ingredients to its menu, though, since they want to focus on stuff that’s available in the market. The menu at present is for the winter months only. So, make hay while the sun shines, so to speak, because in Mumbai, it does so even in winter.
