Does it sound weird to prepare a spicy dish out of ripe fruits? Though the concept sounds different and some foodies might stay put from it, yet they will keep on licking their fingers once the unusual ‘subzi’ comes in a plate. This week we bring to you one such unusual spiced vegetarian dish called ‘Amrut ki Subzi’. All you need are ripe guavas and common Indian spices to make the delicacy. Here is how can turn ripe guavas into a tangy delicious dish:
Ingredients:
1. Amrut (guava) 250 gms
2. Curd 75 gms
3. Tomato 75 gms
4. Saunf powder 2 gms
5. Amchur powder 2 gms
6. Turmeric powder 1 gm
7. Coriander powder 2 gms
8. Hing powder 0.5 gms
9. Green chillies 5 gms
10. Ghee 5 gms
11. Cumin seeds 5 gms
12. Coriander leaves 1 gm( for garnish)
13. Salt As required
Method:
Step 1: Take Amrut (Guava) medium riped, remove the seeds & cut it slightly in bigger cubes.
Step 2: Heat the ghee, temper it with hing powder and cumin seeds. Once the seeds start spluttering, add finely chopped green chilies, & the powdered masalas. Cook it for a while.
Step 3: Boil and puree tomatoes and add to the cooking masalas.
Step 4: To the above mixture add the beaten curd & mix well. Cook it for a while till oil is left from the sides of the pan.
Step 5: To this add cubes of Guava & cook for a while. Check for the seasoning. Serve hot garnished with coriander sprig.
Serve the dish with chappatti or rice.
