As Tao Art Gallery turns 14, a group exhibition has been organised at the gallery. Titled Infinite, the art exhibition will feature paintings and sculptures by nearly 50 artists. The artist line-up includes SH Raza, Jayasri Burman, Paresh Maity, Prabhakar Kolte, Bharati Pitre, Arzan Khambatta, Dhruvi Acharya, Brinda Miller, Jaideep Mehrotra, Manu Parekh, Rini Dhumal, Samir Mondal, Senaka Senanayake, Sunil Padwal and others. Artist and curator of the event, Kalpana Shah says that the theme for this group exhibition comes from the idea that there is plenty of scope in creativity; one’s heart and mind knows no boundaries, and the potential is infinite, just like space.

The works are diverse; it includes triograph and lenticular prints by Akash Choyal and Ali Akbar Mehta, acrylic on acrylic (reverse painting) by Rini Dhumal, sculpture in wood by Karl Antao as well as papier mâché art by Bharati Pitre. You’ll also spot bronzes by Radhakrishnan and Ratan Krishna Saha and installations by Mahendra Bhagat. “The aim is to give the audience an infinite vision and perspective to look at art with a broader outlook,” emphasises Shah. Going ahead, the gallery will feature solo shows of Arunanshu Choudhury (March 14 to 27), Yusuf, Ratnadeep and Sunil Padwal. A book launch is also expected next year.
