Ever since its announcement, the upcoming sci-fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has firmly established itself as one of the most extraordinary Indian films ever made. Ready to offer a technically and visually extravagant cinematic experience unlike anything before, the film boasts an impressive star cast and promises a unique insight into Indian mythology. The mass entertainer stars Pan-Indian star Prabhas as ‘Bhairava’ who has already made a solid impact with the initial glimpses of his character.

Sharing insights about his role as ‘Bhairava’, Prabhas shared about preparing for it and portraying this entertaining and funny character. He said, “It’s more in the mind. Me and our director Nag Ashwin did a few workshops and we would talk a lot about the character before going to the sets. Whenever we would have an idea or a doubt, we would thoroughly discuss it. This character has a lot of shades and is very different from my previous films.”

He further added, “For the first time, audiences will watch me in a full-fledged entertaining character. Bhairava and ‘Bujji’ are really funny, especially this character—the way he is born and his situation. I feel this kind of character, I have never done something with so many shades. Other than Telugu, this is the first funny character audiences will watch me in.”

B&B: Bujji & Bhairava animation prelude:

Prime Video and Vyjayanthi Movies announced "B&B: Bujji & Bhairava," a prelude animation series to the highly anticipated film "Kalki 2898 AD." This series, featuring Prabhas' character Bhairava and his futuristic vehicle Bujji, is available on Prime Video.

The first season of "B&B" has quickly become one of the most binge-watched sci-fi series on its platform, trending in the top 10 in India within just a week of its release. This action-packed series, created by Nag Ashwin, features animated versions of Bujji and Bhairava, characters from the highly anticipated film Kalki 2898 AD.

Opening up about the prelude, Nag Ashwin said: "I always felt that it’s more fun to go to films whose characters you already know and are invested in... that's why Marvel works so well... I wanted to see if we could pull that off, even in a small way. When we started this, we didn't know how hard it would be... we started with 4 episodes... but in almost 2 years, we could only finish 2."

The story of this two-episode prelude is set in the year 2896 AD, in the futuristic, albeit dystopian, city of Kasi. Bhairava is a bounty hunter, and Bujji is an AI pilot of a cargo ship. Both suffer setbacks in their journeys, and an unlikely partnership blooms, setting the stage for adventure.

Featuring an ensemble star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani in key roles, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. A multilingual, mythology-inspired sci-fi spectacle set in the future, the film hits the screens on 27th June 2024.
