Ranbir Kapoor has kept himself away from the web of social media and its overexposure. The actor occasionally hosts a virtual meet and greet with his fans and interacts with them. Recently, he conducted a session with a group of fans and addressed their queries. During the virtual interaction, Ranbir reacted to being called 'toxic'. This clarification came a few months after Alia Bhatt revealed in a video that he makes her remove lipstick whenever they step out together.

In the video, Ranbir said, "Sometimes a lot of things are written about you as an actor, a lot of opinions are made which are not necessarily true and you take it with a pinch of salt because I this image of mine which has been created by the movies or the characters I play or by media is something that I don’t own. It’s owned by the public, it’s owned by people who like my work or dislike my work and they are allowed to say anything about me as long as they give my work a chance you know as long as I can prove to them as an actor and that has always been my focus is just to act."
He further added, "Recently, I was reading some article about being toxic and something relating to some statement I made and I understand this. And I am on the side of the people who are fighting for toxic masculinity, if they use me as the face of it, it’s fine because their fight is bigger than just me feeling bad about them having an opinion about what I said."
In August, Alia shared a video on her technique to apply lipstick. In the video, Alia said, "After applying the lipstick, I rub it off because, one thing, my husband, when he wasn’t my husband, when he was my boyfriend as well, and we used to go out, he used to be like, ‘Wipe that off’, because he loves the natural colour of my lips."
Amid the backlash, Alia did an AMA session on Instagram. When a person asked her about Ranbir's best quality, the actress indirectly hit back at trolls and said she can be her most authentic self with him. "He's my happy place cause I can be my truest most authentic self with him," she shared.
Workwise, Ranbir is gearing up for the December release of his film, Animal.
