It looks like a new round of hera pheri is beginning all over again. The original quartet of the 2000 superhit, Hera Pheri — Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal and producer Firoz Nadiadwala — reportedly met up at Empire Studios in Andheri recently. Given the developments over the last few months, the three actors and the producer realised that the next instalment in the comedy franchise would be incomplete without the original collaborators. As they reunited at the same place where the franchise first took shape, Akki, Suniel, Paresh and Firoz apparently discussed the possibility of joining forces to tell a new story of Raju, Shyam and Baburao. After their meeting, the buzz around B-Town is that they are likely to iron out their creative differences, and finally team up. In that case, wonder what happens to Kartik Aaryan, who was said to be a part of Hera Pheri 3?

A special role for Arjun

It seems Shah Rukh Khan is going all out for his next, Jawan. Recent reports indicate that Atlee’s directorial venture might feature Allu Arjun in a special role. The Telugu actor has been given a narration of his role, and even though he is yet to make a decision, the director is said to be optimistic. The idea is to cast an actor who hasn’t been seen on screen with SRK till date. The film also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, besides Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover and Jogi Babu. Deepika Padukone will also make a special appearance in the actioner. If Arjun comes on board, he will shoot his portions early next month, as Atlee hopes to wrap up the film by March-end.

Saif Ali Khan may be taking it slow on the production front after parting ways with Dinesh Vijan in 2015, but he is ensuring that he doesn’t make any wrong moves. After Jawaani Jaaneman (2020), the actor announced his next production venture yesterday. Saif’s Black Knight Films is joining hands with Endemol Shine India to bring the Danish-Swedish scripted series Broen/Bron for Indian audiences.  He said, “This is the one-of-a-kind opportunity that one waits for. It is a story that has been adapted the world over, and loved by audiences, irrespective of their geographies. My team and I are super excited to be associated with this project and getting it rolling.”

Trade sources inform that after the last year, Anupam Kher is the latest actor to come on board as a film’s producer. His recently-released Shiv Shastri Balboa is said to be an example of his new style of working. Although Anupam’s last Friday offering earned some critical acclaim, it didn’t translate into ticket sales. As the saying goes: you win some, you lose some. No one can have it all!

V-Day hint?

V-Day hint?

On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, Vijay Varma shared a picture of two pairs of feet facing each other with a heart bouncing in the middle. Soon enough, netizens flooded his post making guesses that the other person in the picture was Tamannaah Bhatia. Some fans even shared a picture of the Babli Bouncer actor carrying the same jacket that featured in Vijay’s post. While Vijay and Tamannaah haven’t confessed their feelings from the rooftops, it seems like Vijay was dropping hints, hoping to make it  official. What do you think?

Rabb Se Hai Dua actor Karanvir Sharma recently visited a Mumbai restaurant run by a group of specially-abled people. Impressed by their determination and zest for life, he decided to treat them by inviting them on his television show set.  Calling them a wonderfully talented bunch, Karanvir says, “They are amazing chefs and truly hospitable. So, I wanted to do the same for them. I got them meet the cast and crew, and shared shoot life experiences with them.” Asserting that the people in the service industry deserve respect, the actor adds, “All of them will make you feel warm and in a way, this was my way to pay them back and seek blessings.”

Waiting for Hrithik’s next

Shah Rukh Khan may have skipped meeting the media before Pathaan hit the theatres, but the Badshah has been doing a lot of ‘Ask SRK’ sessions on social media. Recently, a fan asked him if he has any message for Hrithik Roshan, who happened to be online around the same time. SRK promptly replied, “Waiting to see Hrithik in Fighter.” The aerial action thriller, also starring Deepika Padukone, is helmed by Siddharth Anand, whose latest directorial venture, Pathaan turned the tide for SRK. In fact, it was after seeing the result of Sid’s film War with Duggu and Tiger Shroff that King Khan expressed a desire to do an action flick. This apparently happened even before Aditya Chopra and the director could visit SRK with the plotline of Pathaan. We won’t be surprised if SRK and Sid come up with another actioner post Fighter.
