Since 1999, SEAL Ashram, under the leadership of Pastor K. M. Philip, has been dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating the homeless from the streets and railway platforms of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane. This organization has transformed countless lives by offering care, shelter, and emotional support. It is a rather unfortunate situation that the destitute in our nation have been relegated to the marginal periphery of obscurity, where they have remained undocumented. Many inspirational stories can put you through an emotional roller coaster.

A recent heart-wrenching story of a bewildered woman, lost and adrift for seven agonizing years, offers a chilling glimpse into the profound hardships and emotional trauma endured by the destitute. She was discovered wandering aimlessly in a remote village and was brought to the sanctuary of SEAL Ashram, where she was enveloped in compassionate care. Initially, the depths of her memory were shrouded in darkness, her identity a haunting enigma. Yet, through months of unwavering love and dedicated rehabilitation, fragments of her past began to emerge, culminating in the triumphant recollection of her hometown, "Badami." Driven by an unyielding determination, SEAL Ashram forged a connection with local authorities in Badami in Karnataka , leading to a miraculous and tearful reunion with her long-lost family. This poignant and heartwarming saga stands as a testament to the enduring power of patience, hope, and love, even in the face of unimaginable adversity.

Dr. Abraham Mathai, Founder of the Harmony Foundation and Chief Patron of SEAL Ashram, commended the organization’s unwavering commitment. Over the past 25 years, SEAL Ashram has reunited approximately 600 individuals with their families, offering them a second chance at life. The Ashram has endeavoured to retrieve the destitute from obscurity and bring them back into the mainstream by reuniting them with their families and next of kin, resulting in their reintegration back into society. He stressed the importance of civil society’s involvement in addressing destitution, as there are lakhs of such destitute across the nation who don't even reflect in the national census. Often, the homeless are abandoned and disconnected from society and do not even receive the benefits of various government schemes issued for the underprivileged. Therefore, civil society should step forward to provide support through awareness, reporting cases, volunteering, and advocating for inclusive policies.

Dr. Abraham Mathai expressed his respect towards SEAL Ashram, which has chosen to follow a path of compassion and solidarity. He further elaborated, "When there was no one to care for these unfortunate ones, it was SEAL Ashram that came to their rescue and liberated them from the clutches of their worsening and distressing condition of poverty and destitution." He also stated that SEAL Ashram is truly a haven of safety that has, over the years also provided protection for vulnerable destitute women who are exposed to inhumane predators ready to prey on them due to their helpless situation.

Dr. Abraham Mathai further stated that the mission of SEAL Ashram is to strive to build a just and equitable society, free from social injustice, discrimination, and poverty. SEAL Ashram is more than just a shelter; it is a symbol of faith, humanity, and selfless service in a world often driven by materialism. Their tireless efforts continue to inspire and create lasting change, proving that love and perseverance can truly work miracles.

Dr. Abraham Mathai concluded, "Harmony Foundation is immensely proud to stand united with SEAL Ashram and honor the profound impact of their work, the lives they continue to transform, and the lasting difference they make in society."
