Brewer’s Journey – Breaking Stereotypes

Megha Dalimbe

“I’m Megha Dalimbe, a brewer driven by passion, innovation, and the pursuit of crafting unforgettable beer experiences,” she said. With over nine years in the brewing industry, Megha has witnessed and contributed to India’s evolving beer culture while breaking barriers along the way.

Her journey began with a simple yet powerful realization. “One day, while watching a winery tour on TV, I noticed something striking-there were no women in the field. That moment changed everything for me. I knew I wanted to step into this industry, challenge the status quo, and carve my own path,” Megha recalled.

Coming from a technical background, she pursued a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s in Wine, Brewing, and Alcohol Technology. “This education gave me a strong foundation, but brewing isn’t just about science-it’s also about creativity, craftsmanship, and storytelling,” she explained.

Megha started her career at a winery before transitioning into breweries, where she gained hands-on experience in different aspects of alcohol production. Her time at Impala Breweries, working on Goa’s iconic Kings Beer, helped her refine her technical skills. “But my true passion was craft brewing-the freedom to experiment, innovate, and push the boundaries of flavor,” she said.

That passion led her to Bangalore, the heart of India’s craft beer revolution. “For the past six years, I’ve been brewing at Byg Brewski, Hennur, where every day brings new opportunities to create something unique,” Megha shared.
