Taj on alert

The Taj Conspiracy, a book by Manreet Sodhi Someshwar, was launched in the city recently. It is a fictional story about a Mughal scholar, Mehrunisa Khosa, who stumbles upon a conspiracy to destroy the Taj Mahal when she discovers the murder of a supervisor.

Author Manreet Someshwar, who is an engineer and advertising professional, talks about her journey so far, “After spending four years in advertising and as a consultant, I moved to Singapore due to my husband’s job placement. I took a break from work and felt inspired to write a book. I enjoyed the writing process so much that I decided to go on with it. My first novel shaped up after writing a few short stories.”

Someshwar adds that The Taj Conspiracy is fictional but the descriptions are all factual. “Since I have a keen interest in history, I made it a point to research thoroughly before writing anything. This book is different from my earlier books. I had decided to write a thriller when I started writing this. Taj Mahal is said to be an Islamic monument but there is a reflection of Indian culture on it. I thought there is a lot we can tell the readers,” she concludes.u00a0
