Ajay Devgn has responded to the Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI)'s appeal to its members to donate their share of the first show collection of 'Shivaay' that they screen on Diwali to the kin of Uri martyrs. The actor has pledged to contribute a percentage of his directorial venture Shivaay's day one collections to the bereaved families.
Devgn, who has come out in support of the ban on Pakistani artistes in Bollywood, said, “I whole heartedly support the fundraising for the families of the soldiers who lost their lives, defending our country. As the producer of Shivaay, I am pleased to announce that we shall match the contribution made by the members of Cinema Owners and Exhibitors’ Association.”
Last month, Akshay Kumar had also donated Rs 80 lakh to the Uri martyrs’ families.
