Shawn Michaels - Known as The Heart Break Kid, Showstopper, Mr. WrestleMania among many names, Shawn Michaels has main evented 3 SummerSlams (1996, 2003 and 2005). He won the match against Vader in 96, but lost in an Elimination Chamber '03 and to Hulk Hogan in '05. Michaels is a WWE Hall of Famer, a four-time WWE champion, a three-time Intercontinental champion, six-time tag team champion and one of the greatest wrestlers in WWE ever.
Stephanie McMahon - Steph, the daughter of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and wife of Triple H, has been an iconic face and a hottie in the women's division in WWE over decades. Stephanie faced Brie Bella at SummerSlam 2014 - a match which she won. She is a one-time Women's champion in WWE.
John Cena - He is a record-tying 16-time WWE world champion. Cena has an impressive record at SummerSlam as he main evented the PPV on four occassions (2006, 2007, 2010, 2014). Cena has beat Edge in '06, Randy Orton in '07, captained the winning team WWE in '10 but lost to Brock Lesnar in 2014. John Cena is also one of the biggest faces in WWE and led the company as a face for almost two decades.
Trish Stratus - The record seven-time WWE women's champion of the Attitude Era and Ruthless Era, Trish is one of the pioneers in women's wrestling and also considered amongst it's best female wrestlers ever. Trish last appeared after she came out of retirement in a final match against Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam 2019 in what can be called one of her finest matches.
D-Generation X - Unarguably one of the biggest factions in the history of WWE, DX comprising of Shawn Michaels and Triple H, had a reunion in epic fashion in 2006 and faced Mr. McMahon and son Shane McMahon in a tag team match at SummerSlam that year and went on to win it.
Charlotte Flair - 'The Queen' of WWE, could also probably be called The Queen of SummerSlam. Charlotte Flair has competed in all SummerSlam events (except 2017), and won all her matches. She won two women's title matches as well. Charlotte Flair, daughter of Ric Flair, is a record 10-time WWE women's champion and a two-time NXT women's champion.
Sasha Banks - 'The Boss' of the women's division in WWE, Sasha made her SummerSlam debut in 2015 in the same tag-team match as Charlotte which she and her team lost. She went on to lose her Raw women's title the following year to Charlotte at SummerSlam. Sasha Banks is a record five-time and current Raw women's champion, an NXT women's champion and two-time and current tag-team women's champion.
Becky Lynch - 'The Man' of WWE as she is famously known made her debut, alike Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam 2015. During her match against Charlotte Flair and Carmella at SummerSlam 2018, Becky would turn on Charlotte after losing in what would become a total image makeover to date. At SummerSlam 2019 she defeated Natalya in a title match. Becky Lynch is a four-time WWE women's champion and the longest reigning Raw women's champion.
Seth Rollins - 'The Beast Slayer', 'Architect', 'Monday Night Messiah' has main evented SummerSlam in 2019 and defeated Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Universal title. Making his Summerslam debut in 2014, Seth Rollins also defeated John Cena at SummerSlam 2015 to become the first ever WWE world heavyweight champion and United States champion. Rollins is a four-time WWE world champion.
The Miz and Maryse - These two superstars have been one of the hottest couples in WWE ever since the 2000s. Miz has appeared and competed at several SummerSlam PPVs. Miz is a WWE champion, record 8-time Intercontinental champion, two-time U.S. champion and eight-time tag-team champion.
Alexa Bliss - 'The Wicked Witch' or 'Lil Miss Bliss' made her SummerSlam debut in 2016 in a tag team match with Nikki Bella and Natalya which they won. She lost her WWE Raw women's title to Sasha Banks in 2017 and Ronda Rousey in 2018, respectively.
'Macho Man' Randy Savage - The late WWE legendary superstar main-event the first-two SummerSlams in 1988 and 1989 - teaming up with and against Hulk Hogan respectively. The first won saw them defeating Ted Dibiase and Andre the G iant. The next year he and partner Zeus lost to Hogan and Brutus Beefcake. Randy Savage was a two-time WWE World heavyweight champion. He passed away in May 2011.
Beth Phoenix - 'The Glamazon' of WWE was born the same year she debuted at SummerSlam, where she won a Divas battle royal. In 2008, she teamed up with her on-screen lover Santino Marella to defeat Kofi Kingston and Mickie James in a mixed tag team match. In 2011, Phoenix lost to Kelly Kelly in a title match at SummerSlam. Phoenix is a three-time women's champion and one-time Divas champion.
Finn Balor - 'The Demon King' of WWE created history during his debut at SummerSlam 2016 as he defeated Seth Rollins to become the first-ever WWE Universal champion. Balor went on to defeat Bray Wyatt in 2017 and Baron Corbin in 2018 respectively but lost to 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt in 2019.
Shinsuke Nakamura - 'The King of Strong Style' made his SummerSlam debut in 2017 after he defeated John Cena to earn the number one contender to face Jinder Mahal for the WWE title, but lost. In 2018, he defended his U.S. title against Jeff Hardy.
Jeff Jarrett - The former WWE superstar made his SummerSlam debut in 1994 and defeated Mabel. In 1998, Jarrett lost to X-Pac in a Hair vs Hair match. The next year he defeated D'Lo Brown in the opening match at SummerSlam. Jarrett is a six-time Intercontinental champion, one-time tag team and European champion each.
