Jash Shah, 15, of Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School (Juhu) won the boys’ under-16 singles crown in the MSSA inter-school tennis tournament. The tall and lanky Jash overcame a determined challenge from Sahil Kothari of Campion School (Cooperage) as he pulled through, winning by a 4-0 margin in the best-of-seven-game final, at the Bombay Gymkhana tennis courts on Monday.

“This is my first MSSA title, so it surely holds a special place in my heart. Firstly, I would like to thank my parents for all the support. I don’t think this was possible without the support of the school principal Mrs Poonam Choudhary and vice-principal Pooja Salian. They have always encouraged me,” Jash told mid-day.
