On May 1 at the Phoenix Market City in Kurla, eight girls - Kudrat Kaur, Maanya Shenoy, Ailish Garg, Shreya Shah, Dhvani Makheja, Aarushi Bindal, Saanvi Mishra, Jiah Sharma and a boy, Jash, will set a new world record by perform with hula hoops for six minutes and four seconds while wearing quad skates.
Interestingly, the average age of the participants is between five to 11. Skating champ Rishi Sarode, Jash's father, and a holder of a Guinness world record for scaling Mt Kanchenjunga in 15 hours and 27 seconds on roller skates besides a Limca Book of Records title for jumping across three Maruti 800 cars on roller skates, is the brain behind this initiative.
"I have chosen these kids from the various institutes I teach in. The have put in tremendous hard work over the last four months," Sarode told mid-day at the Mumbai Press Club yesterday. The youngsters are an excited bunch. "Let's make India proud," they shouted in one voice.
