Following the death of 11 people and several injuries near the M. Chinnaswamy stadium during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's victory parade, stalwart Virat Kohli expressed his grief by saying he is absolutely gutted. Taking to Instagram, he said, "At a loss for words. Absolutely gutted."

Former RCB batsman AB de Villiers, too, reacted to the Bengaluru stampede. Taking to Instagram, he said, "My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the tragic events at the Chinnaswamy Stadium today," AB de Villiers posted a story on his official social media handle. Taking to Instagram:
Earlier, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that 11 people died in the incident while 33 others were injured.
CM Siddaramaiah said the government will also provide free treatment to the injured.
"A major tragedy occurred during the victory celebrations. It happened near the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The government has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the deceased. The government will provide free treatment to the injured," the CM said.
Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, CM Siddaramaiah said, "11 died and 33 were injured in the stampede. This tragedy should not have happened. The government expresses deep sorrow over this incident".
In the IPL 2025 final against Punjab Kings, the Rajat Patidar-led RCB came victorious by six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat. With this, RCB finally ended their long wait of 18 years to lay their hands on the elusive showpiece. Star all-rounder Krunal Pandya was named the 'Player of the Match' as he returned with the figures of two wickets for 17 runs in four overs.
Kohli finished the tournament as RCB's highest run-scorer and third overall on the list of the IPL 2025 top run-scorers. Having featured in 15 matches, the right-hander scored 657 runs with an average of 54.75.
On the other hand, PBKS, in their second-ever final and first in 11 years, will have to continue their title-chase.
