After suffering a loss in the IPL 2025 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Lucknow Super Giants' skipper Rishabh Pant said he would like to switch off for a few days before getting engaged in the Test series against England.
"Just want to switch off for a few days, not think about cricket and then the England series is coming up and just preparing for that in a good frame of mind," Pant said during the post-match presentation.
Pant also stated that the side needs to deliver performances for all 40 overs and not just 20 overs.
"Eventually you got to play 40 overs of good cricket. 20 overs will definitely not save you in a T20 game and that's been our story. There were a lot of injury concerns before the tournament, that's something that hurt us going through the season," he added.
Further, the left-handed batsman said that he was feeling well in every match of the IPL 2025, but this time he made sure to deliver a big knock.
"I was feeling well with each and every match but sometimes it just doesn't come off. Today I made sure that if I am starting well I should make a big one. Like all the experienced players do, learning from the best always," said Pant.
In the IPL 2025 match against RCB, Rishabh Pant played a knock of 118 runs off just 61 deliveries, including 11 boundaries and eight maximums. Speaking about his knock, "Whenever you get a start, try to make it big as possible. I was trying to play the field, how they were going to bowl, that was something I kept in mind. Playing through the line and looking for the areas and the gaps and kept it very simple. "Played every ball with the same intensity and kept on playing with the same intensity throughout the innings," said the 27-year-old.
However, Pant's century went in vain as Jitesh Sharma played a match-winning knock of 85 runs, which in return helped RCB win by six wickets. He was shouldered by Mayank Agarwal, who scored an unbeaten 41 runs.
The duo also registered an unbroken partnership of 107 runs for the fifth wicket. The victory also helped the Rajat Patidar-led Bengaluru to seal their spot in Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2025.
