<p>In the <a href="https://mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/rcb-vs-rr-ipl-2025-predicted-playing-xis-head-to-head-injuries-and-more-23525937" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><strong>IPL 2025</strong></a> match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Mumbai Indians (MI) batsman Rohit Sharma played a glorious knock of 70 runs, helping the "Paltan" seal victory by seven wickets.</p>
<p>Following Rohit's second consecutive half-century, former Team India cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth felt the right-hander's knock was a reminder of why he is classified as a legend.</p>

<p>In the first innings of the IPL 2025 match at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, <a href="https://mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ipl-2025-ishan-kishans-bizarre-dismissal-in-srh-mi-ipl-clash-raises-eyebrows-23525857" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><strong>Mumbai</strong></a>'s Trent Boult showcased his extraordinary skills with the ball, which made SRH reach just 143 runs for the loss of eight wickets.</p>
<p>In the second essay, Rohit's match-winning knock of 70 runs came in just 46 deliveries, including eight boundaries and three maximums.</p>
<p>Riding on his knock, the Hardik Pandya-led MI chased the target in just 15.4 overs for the loss of three wickets.</p>
<p>With his blistering knock against SRH, Rohit also completed 12,000 runs in T20 cricket, which made him the second Team India batsman and eighth overall to reach the feat.</p>
<p>In 456 matches and 443 innings, Rohit has made 12,058 runs at an average of 30.91, with eight centuries and 80 fifties. His best score is 121*. He is the eighth-highest run-getter in T20s.</p>
<p>The highest run-getter among Indians in T20s is Virat Kohli, who has made 13,208 runs in 407 matches and 390 innings at an average of 41.79 and a strike rate of 134.33, with nine centuries and 101 fifties and the best score of 122*. He is the fifth-highest run-getter in the format.</p>
