Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir, who currently is in England will return to India due to family emergency, according to sources.

"Team India's head coach, Gautam Gambhir, is returning to India from England due to a family emergency," sources said.

In the previous week, Gambhir travelled to England for the preparations of the upcoming Test series against the 'Three Lions'.

Team India will clash against England for the five-match Test series, starting from June 20. Their first match is set to be played at Headingley.

In the upcoming Test series, India will face a massive challenge as they will fall short of experience. Ahead of England series, India stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma dew curtains on their longest format careers.

Following Rohit's retirement, Team India's think tank has appointed Shubman Gill as their new Test skipper.

Players such as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan will feature in their maiden Test series on English soil. Additionally, Team India's lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah will likely not feature in all five Tests, considering his workload management.

The series will be held from June to August, with matches scheduled at Headingley in Leeds, Edgbaston in Birmingham, Lord's and The Oval in London, and Old Trafford in Manchester.

Further, India's bowling coach, Morne Morkel, expressed nervousness considering the time the Indian team had to practice with the red ball. All in all, happy with the start so far. I was a little bit nervous in terms of the lack of red ball we've played, but seeing how the guys are moving around and training in the last three days is a pleasing sight. We have a fantastic group. There's some quality energy, and that's what you need. You need to go into a Test series confident and have that team spirit," said Morkel.

India's Test squad for England series: Shubman Gill (c), Rishabh Pant (vc), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Nitish Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav.

England squad for first Test vs India: Shoaib Bashir, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Sam Cook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jamie Overton, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jamie Smith (wk), Ben Stokes (capt), Josh Tongue, Chris Woakes.
