Team India's all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy had promised himself after the Australia tour that he would improve his bowling, and on Day 1 of the third Test match against England, he showcased his prowess with the ball.
On Day 1, Reddy claimed two scalps for 46 runs in 14 overs. He accounted for the wickets of both England opening batsmen, Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett.
Speaking about his performance, the 22-year-old said, "After Australia tour I felt like I have to improve my bowling and consistency is what I look to achieve".
The youngster further stated that he spoke to Pat Cummins, who was his skipper during the IPL 2025 with Sunrisers Hyderabad. When asked to differentiate between the Australia and England tours, Cummins advised Reddy to keep a watch on the weather conditions.
"I just asked him (Pat Cummins) what's the difference between Australia and England since this is my first tour and he said that it's not going to be like a change but you watch about the weather conditions and just play your game," revealed Reddy.
"You will get to know because obviously I am going to play two India A tour games so he said just try to learn as much as you can and you will get on there," he added.
The right-hander said that he also enjoys working with Morne Morkel, who is the incumbent bowling coach of Team India.
"I have had chats with Morne as well. We are seeing good progression in my bowling and I am really enjoying working with him," said Nitish.
