Amid the ongoing Bihar political crisis, Nitish Kumar has resigned as Bihar Chief Minister. Nitish Kumar tendered his resignation as the Chief Minister of Bihar to Governor Rajendra Arlekar. The Governor accepted the resignation and deputed him as the Acting CM. For days it was speculated that Nitish Kumar would join the BJP-led NDA. He is expected to rejoin NDA possibly later today, marking his return to the BJP led alliance. This has come as a jolt to the opposition headed I-N-D–I-A alliance as he was a key member. In his recent stint, he served as the Chief Minister of Bihar in alliance with the Lalu Prasad Yadav`s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress. Earlier in the morning, BJP leaders gathered in Patna for a party meeting. Though the leaders were mum about the ongoing RJD-JDU rift, speculations of a coalition were high.
