India-Pakistan tensions: Schools in Punjab's Amritsar, Pathankot, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Tarn Taran remain shut

Blackouts were enforced in Amritsar and Hoshiarpur's Dasuya and Mukerian areas as a precautionary measure. Electricity supply in Amritsar was restored at 11:42 pm on Monday

Amid ongoing India-Pakistan tensions, the officials said that schools in five border districts of Punjab remained closed on Tuesday while a blackout was enforced in Amritsar and Hoshiarpur's Dasuya and Mukerian areas last night as a precautionary measure, reported news agency PTI.

Colleges and universities also remained shut in Pathankot and Amritsar. However, authorities in Amritsar said universities and colleges can take classes online.
