Social networking site blocks the community and its owner's account after they are hacked

After leaving the Right-wing Sri Ram Sene red-faced, the Pink Chaddi has finally bowed out of competition.

No, it was not done by the soldiers of Pramod Muthalik but cyber crooks and social networking site Facebook. After the Pink Chaddi Campaign community was hacked on Facebook, the people behind the famous pre-Valentine's Day campaign are accusing the website to have first shut down the account of its founder, Nisha Susan, a Delhi-based journalist and then the group's account on the website.

"It's been quite some time that these hackers have been manipulating the content on the community. Instead of discontinuing our group, Facebook administrators should have actually looked into the security lapse," said Nisha, who received several threatening calls after her campaign became a hit.

"My personal profile was activated a few days back because I approached Facebook through some highly-placed people. But the community is still not responding," Nisha said.

Hackers have posted pictures of human excreta and corpses on the community, which Nisha terms "idiotic".

She added: "Someone renamed the community A good Bong is a dead Bong. Over the month the group has also been rechristened as Nathuram Godse Appreciation Society, Dara Singh Appreciation Group. I also got a mail from Facebook saying that I am making racist remarks. When someone else is controlling my account, how can I post something on it? Why doesn't Facebook act against the hackers? They have so many loose ends to tie."

The hackers have even claimed that they would not free the Website. "Before the site was hacked we had about 59,000 members. However, the induction of new members has gone down. I don't have access to the site to check what is happening but friends report that members are being deleted from the account," Nisha said.
The GK-II resident on February 5 this year had started a campaign on thepinkchaddicampaign.blogspot.com to send Sri Ram Sene pink panties as a mark of protest for the Mangalore pub attack.
