The Paranda fort in Dharashiv, has a double decker fortification. Once the capital of the Nizams, it was captured by Shahajiraje in 1628. Parande is known for its 26 round ramparts with bunkers in the vicinity.

lighthouse of Colaba. Built in 1875, the lighthouse guides the sailors with
a powerful light having a reach as far as 30 kilometres

Vijaydurg (district: Sindhudurg): A key fort in the turbulent history
of the Marathas. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj fortified Vijaydurg with great
care and precision. An under-sea protective wall, which destroyed enemy
ships was the fort's chief feature. The picture underlines the fragile balance
between Vijaydurg and the sea.
