Actress Delnaz Paul was aghast when her husband, actor Rajev Paul, told her that he had seen a beautiful flat in an under construction building bang opposite a garbage dump in Malad (West). "I have lived in Dadar all my life and didn't find the idea of shifting to Malad too hot. But when I saw the flat, I fell in love with it. And, I truly appreciate Rajev's foresightedness as that dumping zone is now Hypercity and Inorbit, two of my favourite haunts." The couple's home can be best described as bright, warm and inviting. Delnaz takes the lead and shows us around her home:

Home-buying is... a time-consuming experience. We decided to shift to the western suburbs because travelling from Dadar to this side of the city was very tiring.
We looked for flats in Andheri, Lokhandwala, Goregaon and Kandivali. At that time, Rajev used to frequently travel to Madh Island for his shoots. He saw this upcoming complex on the way and decided to take a look. He liked the flat and brought me here to check it out. I too liked it and we sealed the deal.u00a0
The location... is very good. We booked this flat in 2004 and our surroundings have totally transformed over the past five years. Malls like Inorbit, Hypercity and Evershine have come up, along with a number of good restaurants. The area is well-planned out with a number of parks and open spaces. Moreover, quite a few friends from the industry live in the vicinity and so our social life is rocking.
The theme... is very western. We have huge French windows that we have decorated with plants and chimes. A large mirror has been put up on one side of the wall. The result beingu00a0 that it makes the living room look much bigger than it is. The other side of the wall is painted in golden yellow with Maple leaf design. My antique Irani coffee table gives a touch of retro to the living room.u00a0
My stamp... are the laughing Buddhas, Ganesha murtis and frames in the house. The hand-painted frames have been gifted to us by my sister-in-law. I also love my cyberglass shell lamp in the living room.u00a0
My favourite corner... is the couch in the living room. I love to relax on my side of the sofa while watching TV or sipping tea and looking out of the window. Rajev loves to spend time near the window tending to his plants.u00a0
I love... lights. I adore dim lights as well as candles. I also like to put up lights on my window every night, though people do it only for Diwali or Christmas. I have a collection of small bulbs and shimmery lights that I put on my window every evening from 7-10.30 pm.u00a0
I have a fetish for... cleanliness and neatness. I am a typical Virgo and love to keep things as tidy as possible. You won't see any clutter in my house.
Home sweet home... Rajev is a typical homebody while I do like to go out and meet friends. But we love to call people home for dinners or small get-togethers. This is our first home and we're very attached to it.u00a0
