Mumbai Metro 2A and 7 timings to be extended, Mono frequency hiked

In a double bonanza for Mumbai commuters, the timings of the last Metro train service on Yellow Line 2A and Red Line 7 has been extended till 11 pm on permanent basis and the number of services on the Mumbai Monorail, too, has been increased.


Commuters on Mumbai Metro, which has become the second lifeline of Mumbai, can now travel till late at night.  For this, the last metro trains from Yellow Line 2A and Red Line 7 will leave at 11pm instead of 10.30pm as per directives by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as the chairperson of MMRDA. The metro timings will be increased from Saturday, November 11.


At present, around 253 services are running between Gundvali and Andheri West on Yellow Line 2A and Red Line 7 from Monday to Friday from 5.55 AM to 10.30 PM at an interval of 7.5 to 10.5 minutes.


The Mumbai Monorail also announced the addition of one additional rake into their fleet, taking their total number to eight of which six will remain in public service anytime and two in spare. Following the addition, the train frequency has been increased to 15 minutes with an addition of 24 services in a day.

“Our monorails will depart every 15 minutes on weekdays, instead of the previous 18 minutes, with a whopping 142 trips available with an increase of 24 services. We are dedicated to ensuring that you have a seamless journey throughout the day, an official said.
