The victim, who was playing with her 10-year-old brother and two five-year-old children in the hotel premises where her father and grandfather work, went missing. Her father assumed that she had gone home at Himmat Nagar. When he reached his residence, he found his daughter missing and set out to look for her. A little later, she came home and told him that she had been raped. The father, along with his daughter and family members, registered a complaint at Wadala Truck Terminal police station at around 1.45 am. The girl was rushed to Sion Hospital for
treatment.

The victim’s father said, “A man gagged her mouth while she was playing and took her into the jungle near the hotel where I work. My daughter said the accused even tried to choke her. After raping her, he showed her the way out of the jungle and left her on the road. She came home and narrated the entire incident. My daughter should be given better treatment at the hospital so she recovers well. I want to see the accused behind bars.” Senior Police Inspector Suhas Sampatrao Garud said, “The nine-year-old told us that the accused was around 20-25 years old. He was wearing a blue shirt and black trousers. Investigations are underway. A case has been registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 363 (kidnapping) and 376 (rape).”
