Dharavi Police in Mumbai have registered an FIR after a dead body of a 5-6 month old boy was found in the area, an official said.

“A stray dog was sniffing the area near a nullah at T-Junction in Dharavi and it located the boy. A passerby saw the dead body of the boy and informed the police,” said Senior PI Raja Bidkar of Dharavi Police Station.

According to the police, after the infant was dead, the body of the boy was allegedly abandoned by the suspect.

The police have registered an FIR under section 318 (concealment of birth by secret disposal of dead body), and further investigation is ongoing, the official added.
