With an al fresco seating and a menu that promises a culinary journey across South Asia, Tendulkar's Corner comes across as a promising joint if you are ready to ignore their confused staff
When we first heard of Tendulkar’s Corner, we couldn’t help but wonder whether the great Sachin Tendulkar had decided to resurrect his chain of eateries. More surprising was to imagine himu00a0setting up shop in Dahisar. As it turned out, Tendulkar is the name of the owner’s son, who named him because of his love for the famous cricketer.

Located next to Dahisar Link Road Bridge in Kandarpada, within a 100-metre radius of fast food chains like McDonald’s and Subway, and an expensive fine dining joint, Masterchef; Tendulkar’s Corner, appears like the smallest restaurant in the group. Reminding us of those atypical tiny and stuffed joints in the swanky areas of Mumbai’s suburbs. But its al fresco seating came to our rescue, a clever strategy, we feel; however, this didn’t help shed fears as a speeding car headed straight towards the café. Nevertheless, we hoped for the best as we browsed through the expansive menu — to find a host of
unfamiliar names.
We turned to the attendant for help, but he didn’t seem to have any clue either. After a few confusing moments, we decided to go with the flow and ordered a mix of unfamiliar dishes like Crispy Spinach with Paneer (R165), Honey Pepper Lamb Chops (R220), Thai Lemon Prawns (R290) and familiar ones like Gost Chop Masala (R220), Laksa Chicken Soup (R100) and Murgh Kandhari Kabab (R180).
Most of the food items were average, the mutton dishes were too dry, and thanks to our attendant, a total mismatch. But the Crispy Spinach with Paneer blew our mind. Served with a dose of sweet crispy spinach, and fried paneer on the side, this made even our non-paneer-eating companion relish it. We would recommend visiting the place just for this starter.
