Spanning across 10 themed rooms at the venue, this exhibition is an immersive exploration into the narrative behind the iconic design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s couture collections.
The room themes include 'Handmade', 'Dream of Divinity', 'White Baroque', 'Opera', 'Architectural and Pictural' and 'Art and Craft of Glassworking'.
“The exhibit is an open love letter to Italian culture as the enduring inspiration for Domenico Dolce’s and Stefano Gabbana’s designs,” an Instagram post by the exhibition page states.
“Italian art history, architecture, craftmanship, regional traditions, music, opera, ballet, cinema, folklore, theater, and la dolce vita are all sources of inspiration that shape Dolce&Gabbana’s creations,” another post states.
The exhibition showcases unique pieces from Alta Moda (haute couture), Alta Sartoria (high-level formal wear) and Alta Gioielleria (high jewellery) collections.
The retrospective has been curated by Florence Muller, and it explores the fashion house’s unconventional approach to the world of luxury.
Visitors can explore over 200 creations that highlight Italian craftmanship.
