Admitting that she craved to work on a song-and-dance sequence for a while, Sonakshi Sinha on why Mil mahiya was the apt choice

Sonakshi Sinha admits that it had been a while since she featured in a typical Bollywood film song that saw her “sing and dance”. In the knowledge that her dance numbers are celebrated, she set out in search of a song that would make for a promising music video.


“Of the number of tracks that were offered to me, Mil mahiya stood out,” says the actor of the recently released number. “The song has a young, fresh and cool vibe that makes one want to dance to it with his/her friends, or even enjoy alone.”

Director Amith Krishnan, who helmed the acclaimed Dhee and Arivu Tamil track, Enjoy enjaami, is at the fore of this offering as well, and Sinha says his appointment only enhanced the piece. “I had loved Enjoy enjaami. It was new-age, vivid, and so appealing. He did a fantastic job, and, even on this set, as was expected, [made it feel like] a party.”

Rashi Sood, who created the track with Upsidedown and Iconyk, says it was crafted within an hour, while working across three time-zones. “Shooting with Sonakshi was fun. She made me feel like I were a friend.”
