Javed Akhtar agrees to write the title track of My Name Is Khan
Javed Akhtar has now agreed to write the title song of Karan Johar's My Name is Khan. Recently, there were reports that the lyricist had refused to share the credits for MNIK along with Niranjan Iyengar, who's writing songs for the film as well.
In the past, Javed Akhtar had refused to write lyrics for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, claiming he wasn't too happy with the film's title.
Change of heart
Sources reveal that Akhtar has had a change of heart after Karan spoke to him convincing him to pen the title track. "Karan is a huge fan of Javed saab, and respects him a lot.
He's worked with him in Kal Ho Na Ho and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and wanted him to be a part of My Name is Khan as well.
However, Javed saab was clear that he didn't want to share the lyricist tag since Niranjan has penned two Sufi songs for the film."
Since the film is based on a sensitive subject, Karan wanted Akhtar to pen down a song that matches the mood of the plot.
"Javed saab is making an exception for Karan because he's shares a close relation with him. He was moved when he heard the subject of the film and applauded Karan for making a film on such a subject."
Karan is presently in LA working on the film.u00a0
