Previously announced passion project was to see Abraham bring game of football on screen; may shelve it if script not meaty
John Abraham
Among the many activities that John Abraham has established his interest in, it is evident that his love for football is second to none. So passionate is the actor about the sport, that he had even announced 1911, a Shoojit Sircar directorial venture that was meant to be based on the game of football. At the time of its announcement, the film was expected to feature real-life football players from the North-East. However, little communication about it has occurred, thereafter.

When Abraham established his company, JA Entertainment, it was evident that work on the film would be handled by his team of writers. However, the script that they have cracked hasn’t won the actor’s heart. Speaking to mid-day before reports about him testing positive for Covid-19 hit headlines, Abraham said, “I want to make the film. Someday in my life, sooner than later, I hope to make it. However, we are nowhere close to [zeroing in on] a developed script. What we have is missing that X-factor that we desire.”
His experience behind the camera has enabled him to realise that cracking a story with the required punch can take years. “If we don’t have that edge, I may never make the film. Football is my passion, and I would love [ to approach] it [correctly].” Meanwhile, Abraham will feature in the month-end release, Attack.
