The Rang De Basanti actor who likes to be known simply as Siddharth, makes his second B-Town coming with Chandan Arora's Striker. The actor, who's a superstar down south, also makes his singing debut with the film. Besides singing Haq Se and Bombay Bombay from the soundtrack, he has also produced some of the tracks on the soundtrack.u00a0
He is classically trained and has previously sung for his Telugu films. He says, "For me, that's another way of connecting to my audience. It's on a different level than acting. My fans love that side of me. However, singing for Striker was a totally different experience." Illaya- raja's son, Yuva Shankar composed Haq Se while Bombay Bombay is Amit Trivedi's creation.
Anth bhala toh...
Initially, a bit sceptical about using many different music composers, Siddharth is happy with the end result, "I was hoping I don't go overboard or the album doesn't come out too strong. But I love it because each song sounds different and has a unique story to tell. Also the songs are very much an integral part of the film."
Extremely choosy about his work, he now wants to make time for more of B-Town, "I am shooting for a few Telugu films so I can take time off to look at scripts for Hindi films. I can't fully abandon my audiences down South."u00a0 Will he sing for more Hindi films? He says, "Well, I'm choosy. You see the number and kind of projects I do. So when it comes to singing, I will be extra choosy."
