It's not uncommon for Bollywood filmmakers to make alterations to their movies to avoid getting into hot water with the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC). A source tells mid-day that director Milan Luthria has taken caution in advance to avoid running into trouble with the Censors for his next, Baadshaho. Starring Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz, the film has a lovemaking scene that has been apparently trimmed.

"The scene between Ileana and Ajay, if left as is, lasts for 10 minutes. It's aesthetically shot and is crucial to the film's plot. But Milan decided to shorten it, trimming the kisses and bareback shots. He didn't want to attract the wrath of the Censors. The film is all-out commercial and he wants it to get a U/A certificate. The scene would have resulted in an A certificate," says the insider.

The director didn't want to take a risk because his film, like Madhur Bhandarkar's Indu Sarkar, is also set in the Emergency period (1975 to 1977). "Milan doesn't want to face controversy ahead of release," says the source.

Luthria remained unavailable for comment.
