The 17th International Flora Expo 2024 and Landscape and Gardening Expo 2024, held from October 25 to 27 at the NESCO Exhibition Center, concluded successfully on Sunday. Organized by Media Today, the event showcased advancements in floral art, floristry, greenhouse technologies, and sustainable practices, drawing enthusiastic participation from industry professionals and the general public.

The event culminated with the Indian Floral Industry CEO’s Conclave, graced by popular television actor Sushant Singh and Marathi actor and comedian Arun Kadam. This unique platform united key stakeholders from the floral sector, including flower growers, wholesalers, florists, wedding planners, floral designers, and event managers.
The CEO’s Conclave featured several prominent addresses, including those by Mr. Srikanth Bollapally, President of GFCI and Founder of Om Sri Sai Flowers; Mr. Narendra Patil, Vice President of GFCI and Vice President of Soex Flora; Dr. M. Viswanath, MD and Joint Director of Horticulture for the Government of Karnataka; Mr. Srikant Kanoi, Convenor and Patron of IFICC and Partner at Ethereal Celebration Management; and Mr. Jeetendra Pardeshi, BMC Mumbai Superintendent of Gardens and Tree Officer.
The conclave served as a dynamic platform for sharing insights, addressing challenges, and exploring new opportunities within the industry. Participants engaged in panel discussions and interactive sessions that delved into emerging trends, market demands, and technological advancements. Key topics covered included “Sustainable Floral Supply Chain: Challenges and Opportunities in India,” “The Rise of E-commerce & Social Media in the Floral & Wedding Industry: Opportunities and Challenges,” “Floristry and India’s Florist Market Trends,” and “Innovations in Floral Designs and Wedding Planning.” These discussions fostered collaboration and inspired strategic partnerships to drive sustainable growth and elevate the Indian floral market on a global scale.
The three-day event was inaugurated with a floral tribute to the late Shri Ratan Tata Ji, led by actor Manish Paul and distinguished dignitaries including Vinita Sudhanshu, General Manager of APEDA; Jeetendra Pardeshi, Superintendent of Gardens and Tree Officer, BMC; Jack Goossens, Board Member and Chair of the AIPH Ornamentals Production Committee; and Treve Evans, Senior International Relations Manager, AIPH.
Workshops on Nature in Miniature were held on the first day, where participants engaged in sessions on bonsai, culinary botany, Ikebana, and wildflower diversity. These workshops provided hands-on experiences and deepened appreciation for the artistry and practical uses of plants.
During the Global Conference on “Plant, Places & People” on October 26, experts gathered to discuss the intersection of plants, urban spaces, and human interaction with green environments. The conference emphasized the importance of integrating green spaces into urban life and fostering meaningful discussions on sustainability.
The International Flora Expo and Landscape & Gardening Expo 2024 served as a crucial link between the floriculture industry and the general public, inspiring individuals to integrate flowers into their daily lives and celebrations.
