No one was injured in the incident as the children in the bus were immediately evacuated.

The CNG mini school bus of Millat School in Jogeshwari (west) was on its way back to drop the KG students home, when the bus caught the fire. While the vehicle was nearing Andheri station, the driver realised that smoke was coming out of the bus. Suspecting something was wrong, he evacuated the kids without wasting anytime with the help of the local shopkeepers.

Within minutes, the entire bus went up in flames, but courtesy the driver’s alertness no one was injured, and a major incident was avoided.

Though the fire station was just 200 metres away from the spot, the officials took more than 30 minutes to get there owing to traffic in the area. Immediately after they reached the spot, the fire was doused.

The exact reason of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and investigations are on.u00a0
