Charity is not a fad for Jackie Shroff like other B-Town stars. The actor recently came forward to financially help assistant art director, Ramesh Singh Gautam, when he heard that he has suffered a paralytic attack and consequently can't work and fund his son's education.

Gautam who is touched by the actor's gestures informs, "I suffered a paralytic attack on the night of this New Year and since then I have been out of work. I was very worried about my son's studies, as I have no money to send him to college. Though my family and friends supported me, it wasn't sufficient.

One of my friends happened to know Jackie and mentioned about me to him.

He got so concerned that he immediately sent me a cheque of Rs 25,000 for my son Kartikey's admission in a college and also told me that he will sponsor my son's education. In fact, my film association membership card has been cancelled and he said he will get it renewed."

"He is a gem of a person. I had worked with him in Prakash Jha's Bandish and had no communication with him since then. I am really touched by his generosity," says the 50-year-old Bhayander resident. Jackie remained unavailable for comment.
