Shahid Kapoor's brother bags his second film with Karan Johar; likely to join Tiger Shroff in Student Of The Year 2
Ishaan Khattar
Even though he is yet to start prepping for his first commercial outing under Karan Johar's banner, Ishaan Khattar, it appears, has already become a favourite of the filmmaker. Johar has apparently roped in Shahid Kapoor's younger brother for yet another outing, the second instalment of his 2012 romance-drama, Student Of The Year.

The news follows the unveiling of the film's first poster, featuring Tiger Shroff, after Johar had shared it on Twitter. The second venture under the filmmaker's Dharma Productions is part of a three-film deal with Khatter, a source tells mid-day. "Just like the first part, this film will also have many songs," the source says. Given that Khatter, with a year-long dance degree from Shiamak Davar's institute in 2014 on his resume, will pair up with Shroff, cinephiles can expect a few power-packed dance sequences too. "There will also be a few action scenes. Ishaan is already gearing up for them."

Khattar, we hear, was to make his debut with the franchise, but will now establish himself with Johar's Dhadak. The Hindi remake of Nagraj Manjule's highly successful Marathi outing, Sairat, also features Jhanvi Kapoor. Citing the reason behind the delay in kicking off SOTY, the source says, "The film had been put on hold because Karan wanted a few changes in the script. An outing with Sara Ali Khan in the Bollywood remake of the American romance-drama, Fault In Our Stars, was apparently going to mark another collaboration between Ishaan and Karan. But, that got shelved."

Shooting for Dhadak, the source says, will kick off soon. "Ishaan has a 40-day schedule for the film, following which he will move on to SOTY 2." Being helmed by Shashank Khaitan, Dhadak is eyeing a July 2018 release, while the college drama is expected to hit screens later next year. Part one marked the debut of Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan.
