At least 26 people were killed in the brutal assault, leaving families shattered and raising fresh concerns over tourist safety in the region. Grief and anger have poured in from across India as more details emerge from the scene. Survivors have begun to share chilling accounts of the chaos that unfolded. A tourist couple from Nagpur, Maharashtra, recalled the terrifying moment when gunfire erupted, sending people running for cover in panic and confusion. Among the victims was Sushil Nathaniel, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, who died while trying to protect his wife and two young children. His wife, later recounting the ordeal, spoke through tears about the trauma they endured and the courage he showed in his final moments. Several tourists returning to Mumbai from Anantnag were seen breaking down at the airport as they spoke to reporters, still visibly shaken by the events. Many struggled to describe what they had gone through, having watched a peaceful vacation turn into a nightmare. Beyond the human tragedy, the attack has once again spotlighted security concerns in the Kashmir Valley, especially for tourists.
