Manchester United star Chris Smalling and his fiancée Sam Cooke are reported to rack up more than 30,000 air miles in their marriage and subsequent honeymoon, in what is expected to be a no-expense-spared celebration of their love.

Before taking their wedding vows in Italy this July, Smalling will make a 10,100 mile trip for his bachelor party in Las Vegas in June and then return to Manchester. Meanwhile, Cooke will travel for 8,300 miles both ways for her own hen do in Barbados, with friends and family. The following month, the pair will travel for 2,000 miles to and fro for their wedding to be held at Lake Como in Italy, almost a year after getting engaged.

That's not all – to cap off their celebrations, the couple plan to spend their honeymoon on the sandy shores of Seychelles, an island in the Indian Ocean. The journey from Italy to Seychelles and back to Manchester is 10,400 miles, which adds up to a staggering 30,800 miles in total. "Chris (Smalling) is an old romantic and his love for Sam (Cooke) is clearly enough to stretch around the world," a source was quoted as saying by the British tabloid.
